Week 3 in the books (almost!)

So my third week around here was a great one! In one week I saw buckets of rain, over 8 inches of snow, and today was a beautiful 65 degree spring day. All this weather made life much more interesting and eventful to say the least.

So last week my Georgia grandparents came into town and what a great visit it was! It was nice to meet them and spend some very quality time with some amazing people. I am pretty sure I haven't been held so much in such a short amount of time. My grandmother would get up early in the morning to take care of me and my grandfather would hold me tight on his chest for hours at a time. They did so much with Matthew and I. I think I am going to love when they come to visit! I can tell after just one week, these people are special and I look forward to seeing them and getting spoiled again!

During their visit I was able to have all four of my grandparents over for a dinner. Never mind it was Matthew's 4 1/2 birthday party (seriously Matthew? Attention stealer!). I feel lucky to have such amazing and caring people looking after me.

Had yet another doctor's visit. Seriously I am sick of people in white coats with their cold hands checking me over. I think I have another one in a week or so. Matthew keeps telling me that this needle thing only hurts for a minute???

So on this Spring day today, I got to go to my brother's soccer practice/game. The kid is getting better by the sounds of things. He runs around and kicks a ball once in a while, but it looks like and sounds like fun! After soccer I got to go to my Grandfather's (Pop) chili cook off! This chili tasting just happen to be at a Harley Davidson dealership! Talk about loud motors and leather pants. Someday someone is going to have to explain this all to me. Geez! I love having Butter and Pop living so close to me. I am looking forward to all the fun we will have together.

This upcoming week my father is off from work and it will be nice to have him around! But after that week, Matthew goes back to his school and I get my mom to myself! Now that is living!!!

A Snip-it of What is Going On!

So this was an eventful week! Had two doctor visits after leaving the hospital. All is well with me, but I am refusing to talk about the second visit to the doctor. My Yaya (Ingrid) stepped up and was with me when my mom couldn't watch! I am not very pleased with this visit to the doctor and will not acknowledge what he did to me if you ask me. End of story, let's move on!

In other happenings my father is back at work so it is just me and mom until the grandparents get here. She is doing a good job so far and we are having a ton of fun. I get constant attention, lots of kisses/hugs, and outfit changes all the time. I thought I heard her go to the store to get some toys for me. I will report back!

I have been seeing a lot of my grandmother (Butter) lately. She comes over in the morning to check on my mother and me. I get to snuggle and get some decent kisses out her. Speaking of grandparents, I am looking forward to the arrival of my Georgian grandparents very soon. This will be our first time meeting! I am all nervous, because I just hope they like me...

The older brother is tolerable and apparently is "helpful" too. He is the runner of all things that are needed: pacifiers, burp clothes, diapers, wipes and even a change of clothes. He cleans up after me and excuses me when I burp. He says "I love you" all the time to me and even is learning to burp me.

So this week had its highs and lows, but for the most part it was great. Iam definitely getting used to being home and fitting right in. This next week is going to be very eventful and jammed packed with things to do. So the adventure continues!

Colin

Home!

Well after a few days in the hospital I am home and getting settled. It is quite a change from my old room to this house in many ways. Leaving the hospital means no more nurses with their expert tight swaddles and walks around ward looking for some hot "babes".

But being home has some wonderful positives too! No more doctors looking in every single place they can think of, no more silly hats that all the other kids have, and no more sharing the attention at night in the nursery. Here at home I am literally the only kid on the block! It is me and my brother in this house. He gave me the grand tour last night of all the rooms, hallways, and even toys. He seems to think he is in charge and as soon as I mobile I am going to make a run at that "in charge" designation.

So one thing that is the same as the hospital is the frequent visitors! Plenty of people are stopping by to visit, but really let's be honest: they're here to see me. In the one afternoon since being home Yaya came by with lunch, which I didn't get any of (grr Mom!), and Butter came by with dinner and a welcome home cake. (in the future we need to find out what is going on with everyone's name... seriously who names themselves this!)

So home is fun. My sleeping conditions are acceptable and the food continues to be good. I have no complaints so far,

What a Start!

Hello everyone!

What a long and tired day, but what a day it has been! So after 9 long months of cooped up conditions I am finally out and about. I think snuggled warm and close in my mom's arms is better than my prior living conditions. Just saying...

What are my stats you ask?

March 5, 2012 9:27AM
10lbs and 10.4oz
(that's 2lbs and 2oz more than older brother)
21 inches
39cm circumference head
2 shots in the leg
4 pricks in the foot

I had many visitors (and a few lady admirers) come to my room to check things out. Some held me tight and others just saw from a distance. I enjoyed everyone's company and I think they enjoyed mine.

Besides my parents one visitor really stuck out and he is a poker and a proder... my brother Matthew. Seriously, this kid must have petted me, poked me, and he even held me. He isn't the gentlest of fellows, but he really was loving. So I will take it I guess.

So today was a great great day. My first 12 hours have been eventful and memorable for everyone. Thank you to everyone I met and I am looking forward to all my family and friends I will meet soon meet too!

Colin
